The future of Formula 1 in China secured until 2030.

Renewed commitment to the Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai.

Shanghai will continue to host the Formula 1 Grand Prix, following the official announcement of a contract extension that will keep the prestigious event at the Shanghai circuit until 2030. This decision marks a significant milestone for the F1 championship, strengthening its presence in Asia.

Shanghai: A key stage on the F1 calendar.

Since its inception in 2004, the Chinese Grand Prix has firmly established itself as one of the highlights of the Formula 1 season. After a forced hiatus of five years due to the global pandemic, the race made a triumphant return this season, topped by the victory of Dutch champion Max Verstappen.

Bright prospects and a warm welcome.

The contract renewal was eagerly anticipated, especially since the return of F1 to Shanghai last April, for the first time since 2019, was widely celebrated. “Returning to China in April was a landmark moment for our sport. Seeing the growing enthusiasm of fans year after year is truly extraordinary,” expressed Stefano Domenicali, President of Formula 1. He adds, “Shanghai is not only a spectacular metropolis but also offers an exceptional circuit. I am therefore thrilled by the prospect of continuing this fruitful collaboration.”

The next appointment.

Formula 1 fans can already mark their calendars: the next Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled for March 23, 2025, just one week after the season opener in Australia. This scheduling underscores the strategic importance of the Chinese Grand Prix on the F1 calendar, serving as a catalyst for the sport’s expansion in Asia.

With this contract renewal, Formula 1 not only reaffirms its commitment to the Chinese market but also its intent to develop motorsport in the region, promising exciting developments for the years to come.
