Red Bull undergoes major transformation in Singapore, says Verstappen.

Max Verstappen perceives a significant renewal at Red Bull during the 2024 Singapore Grand Prix weekend. According to the Dutch driver, this shift could signal promising developments for the team. He emphasizes that this evolution has inspired Red Bull for upcoming races, asserting that the team is now heading in the right direction.

Verstappen’s mixed performances in Singapore.

During the qualifying sessions, Verstappen finished as the 15th fastest driver in FP2 last Friday. He struggled to maintain pace, often forced to use out-of-track zones while handling his RB20. However, during crucial moments in Singapore, Verstappen stayed just behind his main championship rival, Lando Norris, to minimize potential losses as much as possible.

A historic turnaround for Red Bull?

With a 52-point lead over Norris and only six races left in the championship, Verstappen expressed his continuous desire to improve. “We always aim to do better. We will analyze thoroughly and I hope we will perform stronger in Austin and beyond,” he stated. When asked if this was Red Bull’s biggest turnaround of the F1 season, Verstappen responded, “It was a different direction that might inspire us for the future. A major change, but determining if it’s the biggest is still difficult.”

Future prospects for the F1 season.

The Formula 1 season is currently on hiatus, with the next race scheduled for late October in the United States. Red Bull had anticipated that the improvements made would fully manifest in Austin, a traditional-style circuit. Verstappen shares this optimism, although he expresses concerns regarding street circuits like Las Vegas.

“Street circuits will probably be more challenging for us, while more conventional circuits will be somewhat easier. We are generally satisfied, but there is still much work to be done. We are aware of this and hope to boost our performances moving forward,” he concluded.

Red Bull and Verstappen are now preparing to capitalize on the adjustments made in Singapore to tackle upcoming challenges, especially on varied circuits. The team aims to strengthen its position and maximize its chances of success in the remaining races of the season, with a keen eye on performances in Austin and beyond.
