The Red Bull Ring hosts round 11 on 27–29 June 2025. Hamilton continues adapting to Ferrari, McLaren seeks a response after its drivers’ collision in Canada, and Alex Dunne prepares for his first F1 practice session.
A standard weekend without a Sprint
Unlike recent editions, Austria does not host a Sprint in 2025. Three practice sessions precede qualifying and the Grand Prix. Teams therefore have more time to work on set-up and tyres at this short, fast circuit.
Alex Dunne in the McLaren
The 19-year-old Irishman replaces Norris for FP1 only. British F4 champion in 2022 and GB3 runner-up in 2023, he is part of McLaren’s development programme and the mandatory rookie practice outings. His appearance does not announce a replacement for Norris in the race seat.
Answers expected on track
Ferrari continues working with Hamilton to exploit the SF-25. At McLaren, attention turns to how Norris and Piastri respond after Canada. Their internal competition and the challenge from Red Bull and Mercedes make this an intriguing round, without treating unconfirmed driver-change rumours as established facts.
